During this time, African Americans wanted the freedom to go to school where they want, sit where they want, be where they want, and to have the freedom to be what they want to be. They established organizations like the NAACP, CORE, SCLC, and SNCC to make the change that they wanted. As they fought peacefully the did get to achieve the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. They fought for freedom and equality by boycotting, marching, protesting, creating organizations, and making speeches that are breath taking. They did achieve the freedom they wanted with hard work and sacrifice. Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy, Rosa Parks, and many other [groups of] people.
